The ASSE 6050 Medical Gas Systems Instructor certification is for those intending to teach the required classes for the ASSE 6000 certifications—installers, inspectors, verifiers and healthcare facility maintenance personnel working with medical gas and vacuum distribution systems. An ASSE 6050 candidate has extensive experience in piping and medical gas fields, as well as practical instructional experience. Along with general knowledge about medical gas and vacuum systems installation, maintenance and testing, this certification covers the code requirements within the scope of NFPA 99, NFPA 55 and other applicable codes, laws and standards. This certification consists of a verification of the required experience and 40-hour training, and a 100-question exam. See the Candidate Manual for details about this certification, process and exams.
The ASSE 6050 does not qualify people to instruct certification courses required for Bulk (Cryogenic Fluid Central Supply) systems—the 6015 and 6035. These require an ASSE 6055 Instructor Certification.
