The ASSE 6005 Medical Gas Systems Generalist Certification is provided for medical gas supervisors, architects, engineers, code officials, administrators, project managers, estimators, or anyone else who has an interest in the proper design, installation, use, and maintenance of medical gas and vacuum systems at health care facilities. There are no work/experience prerequisites, so anyone is eligible for the certification. However, all candidates must complete a minimum 24-hour training course covering ASSE Standard 6005 and applicable sections of NFPA 99 and NFPA 55, taught by an ASSE 6050 certified instructor. Please see our list of approved training providers and partners. Once the training is completed candidates will be eligible for the certification exam. See the candidate handbook for more details about the certification and exam process.
*Note: This certification does not qualify people to install, work on, inspect or certify medical gas systems. Please see the other available certifications.
