The Medical Gas Training Institute (MGTI) is a third party certification agency for the medical gas industry. MGTI offers testing and certification services for personnel involved in all areas of the industry. MGTI strives to improve the medical gas field by offering high quality testing services developed with exceptional quality standards while making the exam content and process as practical as possible. As a personnel certifying agency MGTI is guided by the ISO Standard 17024 (Personnel Certification), and maintains uncompromising principles for integrity as an organization and for the exam development process. Our mission is to provide comprehensive certification services efficiently and effectively for the medical gas industry.
The certification programs were developed by some of the leading authorities on medical gas and vacuum systems in the industry. The Certification Scheme Committee is made up of ASSE 6050 and 6055 certified medical gas instructors, industry experts, and highly qualified educators that have combined experiences that have created the finest medical gas qualification programs in the industry. The programs have been created and developed to focus on those individuals involved in the design, installation, inspection, testing, operation, service, and repair of medical gas and vacuum systems.
MGTI’s organizational structure consists of several committees. They include Examination Committees representing each certification offered and a Certification Scheme Committee which oversees all other processes in the programs. MGTI’s certification exams are developed, updated, and maintained by the examination committees, which focus on the specific certification and training content areas. These committees are made up of individuals who perform the work in those areas, and are coordinated by our two in-house exam developers, who both have advanced degrees in education. The Certification Scheme Committee is made up of various MGTI stakeholders, and is responsible for making decisions about all aspects of the certification programs, other than the actual exam content.
